Hi darlings~ Did everyone have an awesome weekend? I hope you did, bcuz I spent mine by having fun with my BFF and frenz ^-^

Well then, today I'm gonna write a review of Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush in wooden rose, and also Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine Free Blush in Freh Apricot which I bought a while back (December 2012 if I recall).

Left: Maybelline cheeky glow, Right: Maybelline clear smooth shine free blush
Cheeky glow in wooden rose, and Maybelline clear smooth in fresh apricot

I accidentally dropped my cheeky glow and broke the cap. lol.

Here's a lot of swatches of the blushers for you~
Taken with AWB setting, under natural daylight.

The skintone is more accurate on this photo, but the swatch of maybelline cheeky glow is not that accurate. It looks kind of chalky, matte, and leaning towards milky pink with a hint of purplush color? which isn't really what it actually looks like =(

Swatches with flash! the swatch looks a bit more natural and more accurate :) so if you're looking for an accurate swatch, please refer to this photo ^

Indoor lighting - the cheeky glow turned out more pinkish here. But the swatch of clear smooh fresh apricot is accurate.

Maybelline Cheeky Glow in Wooden Rose:
It's a peachy light salmon color combined with dessert sand, with subtle and very fine gold shimmer. The color is like a darker version of Stila bronzing powder in pacific coast highway. At first I was a little iffy with this wooden rose shade, as I thik that it is so sheer or light that the color barely shows up. But the Beauty advisor on that Maybelline counter said that it has a good color pay-off, which is true :)

It's not look as chalky irl (the swatches don't do justice!) it may show up well and not chalky on people with fair skin, but I'm afraid it will leave a chalky finish on darker skintone.

What I like about it:
★ Pretty and natural shade without being too over the top
★ Price! It's SUPER cheap, one of the cheapest blusher I've ever bought (USD $ 3.5)
★ Subtle shimmer
★ Packaging design that is not-so-drugstore (but still, I hope they will use a sturdier plastic)
★ Ease of use, without the worry of  blushing too much.
★ It's a cute shade that's perfect for nude make-up~

What I don't like:
- Not as long -lasting. Need to retouch at least once/day.
- You drop it once, the packaging will break. Drop it twice and it's the end~

forgyff my small bumps TT^TT... I just use a very very VERY SMALL amount of the cheeky glow  because I don't like an obvious blush. And you know, I'm the quite satisfied one with the result :) it gives a healthy glow finish without being too over the top, and without the feel of 'too much effort', if you know what I mean~

Next,

Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine Free Blush in Fresh Apricot:
On the pan, it's a dark vermillion reddish orange. It looks beautiful on the swatch, and that's the reason why I bought it on a whim. It's really really pigmented, just a little amount of it could build up a decent color pay-off. It has a fine and subtler shimmer too, not too obvious as the shimmer in cheeky glow though. I love the color, but I need to pay extra attention no to put it too much, else it will look too obvious, which of course I hate.

I'm bewildered by its name, shine-free. Is it reffering to its oil control properties? or its subtle shimmer? Nah I'm not sure about that. It has no oil control properties though (at least for me).

It's too red to my liking and it may sometimes give an unnatural look, which I do not fancy too much. The packaging is too basic and not as cute as cheeky glow, and it looks BORING D: You know~ pretty much the feel of drugstore packaging.

----------

Repurchase? Nope, I won't repurchase both of the blusher (eventhough I LOVE cheeky glow in wooden rose so-damn-much!) I simply want to try other brands :3

Anyhoo~~ talking about the haul post that you've been asking for. One of the package delivery is delayed o: The seller said it will arrive next week, oh gosh I just hope it will arrive sooner! So I can make a post of my first wave of haul *fingercrossed.

See you loves~!
